So during my mini hiatus from my lovely blog - trials and tribulations of having a 9 - 5... I found I had an influx of "interest" on my site.  First one, then two and eventually fourteen new "subscribers"!  I was confused as I knew I had been lacking in the posting arena, so I wondered why all these people were suddenly subscribing.  Then, tonight as I finally made time to sit down and do a little writing, it dawned on me... I don't even have a "Subscribe" button on my blog!!  I don't think I have ever logged on to my blog quicker....  For the love of God! Please don't tell my my site has been hacked!  I logged in and opened up my site, almost sure that I was going to find a load of obscene photos where my blog posts should be!

Thankfully this was not the case!  Although on closer inspection, I found each of the email addresses of my new subscribers was on a "spambot" list somewhere or other in the wwwuniverse (yes - that is the technical term for, it is pronounced wooniverse).  So folks, no, I have not become an overnight blogging sensation, and no, I shall not be leaving it this long before updating, or even sending you all a little "Hello, I'm still here" note!

So my blog about lashes was hijacked with my robot fans, but check out my next post... hint... I am going to Youniquely blow you away... hehe!

ooooh someone's in trouble!  Apologies for the late post my lovelies! I have had a super busy week, and have just found a few minutes out of my day to myself so I can sit and write to you!

I wanted to do something a little different today so I thought I would respond to a request and answer the 30 Beauty Questions tag... here goes nothing

  1. Do you remember your first makeup item?

This is a good question! I do actually! It was a Body Shop turquoise mascara that I used to wear (very fashionably) on my outer lashes, applied once I had left my Mum's car and got round the school gate... said mascara was also efficiently removed before hometime...

  1. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

As you may know, I am a huge Benefit Cosmetics fan, so I live by their mascara “They’re Real”. I am also growing to love my new mascara that I am currently testing for review which is the Younique Fibrelash mascara. I think between those two I have found my perfect fit.

OK, so I know it hasn't been up for too long, but being a neat freak, I decided to give my site a little bit of a cleanup, I'm thinking it looks a bit more refreshing, not to mention easier on the eye!

Did you also happen to spot my new logo?? #happydays!!

The old site (a Wix hosted site) will still be accessible by the old wix-links, but moving forward all traffic will (hopefully) come straight here!  I have ventured into the world of self hosting and WordPress.  So far so good!  A lot of options for customisation but it does take a little playing with to get used to all the features - and boy are there a lot of features!

MU EraserAfter watching a load of "amazing" Instagram videos of The Makeup Eraser, I was super pleased when The Beauty Shop announced that they had received a shipment of them in store.  I was actually the first person to pick one up!

I tried it out the first day and I was impressed - granted I wasn't wearing a full face (although it did remove my Benefit They're Real mascara which is a feat in itself!).

Ladies! (and gents), I don't usually like to do "LOTD" reviews, but today I was feeling pretty smug with my pink smoky eye that I managed to create so I thought why not!

LOTD1I came across a drugstore sale yesterday and as I was feeling for some vibrant eyeshadow colours I picked up a Beauty UK palette.  I must admit, I hadn't heard of this brand before, but I actually really like how pigmented their shades are.  I found there to be a strange waxy coating on the eye shadows (which I used the back of my brush to scrape off - sorry it had to be done), once that was off, it was lovely.

I used my trusty KMS Mineral Essentials foundation, with my Sephora Colourful Collection in Matt (No54 Black Lace) as my liner and to smudge it out.   I used a Taupe(ish) Makeup Store shade on my crease to blend it (will get the name a little later).  I also used Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Perfecting Make-up Base and Makeup Store's Clear Eye Primer.  Obviously I contoured with Benefit's famous Hoola, and used a little Benefit Sunbeam to highlight.  I finished the look off with Benefit's POREfessional: Agent Zero Shine.

Thoughts or tips?

Have a lovely day and stay blessed!

So, if you follow me on Instagram (which you should be...@madeupbh - link on the right) you will already know that I recently received my KMS Mineral Essentials Mineral Foundation.  I have to say, I'm in love!

I have to give credit to Kristi for the amazing product she has created.  The shade match is amazing and the finish is beautiful.  I finally have my flawless finish again!  It is not powdery at all, doesn't look caked on, I cannot rave about this product enough.

In order to be able to give a fair review, I decided to use the foundation for at least a couple of weeks because I know how my skin works, and after my Bare Minerals fiasco.  Even though I loved the finish from the first time I put it on.

So I have recently discovered I have a slight addiction to Benefit Cosmetics... On a recent trip back home to the UK I splurged on Benefit products that I "really really needed"...  I also had a makeup tutorial in their Covent Garden boutique which was super fun.  Needless to say, I have quite a few Benefit reviews coming your way, starting with the product that was being overly advertised in every cosmetic shop on Oxford Street...the they're real! push-up liner. ...continue reading
